About Dr. Armstrong (aka Ben the Psychologist)

I’m Dr. Benjamin Armstrong, a clinical psychologist (PhD), ADHD specialist, and founder of Mensio Mental Health. I’ve been working with clients since 2014, combining warm, relational therapy with cutting-edge tools and a deep focus on momentum, clarity, and self-understanding.

I’m licensed by both the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ) and the College of Psychologists and Behavior Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), and I’ve trained under more than a dozen clinical supervisors across hospital, university, and private practice settings.

What I Do:

My work is grounded in the belief that your mind isn’t the problem — it’s the path. I specialize in helping adults with ADHD, executive dysfunction, burnout, and complex emotional histories learn to work with their brains, not against them.

My practice blends:

  • Mindful self-compassion

  • Motivational interviewing & CBT

  • Modern exposure-based methods for anxiety, obsession, and fear

  • AI-enhanced tools for tracking, summaries & engagement

  • Gottman-based work for couples

  • Occasional use of clinical hypnosis for focus, confidence, and phobias

Whether we’re building emotional regulation, breaking through avoidance, or mapping out your personal system for success, we’ll move toward real change that lasts — and do it without crushing your spirit or energy along the way.

A Bit More Personally

I’m a builder at heart. I love structure, data, and design — and I believe that therapy doesn’t have to be fluffy to be warm and connected. I’ve been living abroad for the past few years (sorry, teletherapy only) and am planning my move back to Canada. I currently offer:

  • Psychotherapy in Ontario and Quebec

  • ADHD & executive coaching internationally

  • Custom assessment packages with in-depth reports

  • Consulting for clinics and health tech

Clients I Work With:

I help individuals with:

  • ADHD & attention issues

  • Anxiety, obsessive thinking, and overcontrol

  • Burnout, shutdown, and executive fatigue

  • Personality and relational issues

  • Trauma or complex emotional learning histories

  • Motivation & values-based life redesign

  • Couples seeking structure, clarity, and deeper connection

If your mind moves fast or hits the wall hard, we may be a fit!

In his own words

"I take a compassion-focused approach to therapy. Under this approach, my primary aim is to relate to my clients with absolute acceptance and unconditional support no matter what they choose to bring up."
